CD Projekt RED Threatened With Big Penalty If Can't Fix Cyberpunk 2077

Since its release last December, Cyberpunk 2077 seems to have become the hottest topic of conversation in the gaming industry. Starting from the most ambitious project from CD Projekt RED which has been in development for 8 years, who would have thought if Cyberpunk 2077 ended with disappointing quality. Overall, the game isn’t that bad, but a lot of technical issues like bugs and glitches make it really messy.

Many players requested refunds, the number of active players on Steam dropped dramatically, and again the developer’s stock fell even before the game was released. Due to the problems that continue to accumulate, especially from the lawsuit faced by CD Projekt RED, the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) intervened in dealing with the existing problems.

Reported from the site Dziennik, From now on, UOKiK will conduct direct monitoring to solve Cyberpunk 2077 problems. This also includes monitoring the steps taken by CD Projekt RED in solving existing problems. The worst-case scenario is a fine of up to 10% of the company’s profits last year. Of course this is if they fail to improve the game within the stipulated deadline.

The fine of up to 10% is of course a very large amount and will be very detrimental to CD Projekt RED. Moreover, in addition they also have to prepare compensation in the form of DLC content to access full refunds for players. A very unfortunate case indeed, especially since this happened to one of the most competent developers in the game industry.

For those of you who are curious about the game Cyberpunk 2077 has been officially released and can be played on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia and PC.
