Not Lasting Long, World of Dragon Nest Will Be Permanently Closed This Month

Of the many online game franchises that are most popular in Indonesia today, Dragon Nest is arguably the most well known. Relying on its high popularity, the developer has expanded the franchise by creating several new games, one of which is World of Dragon Nest, which was released last year. But a big franchise name doesn’t always guarantee the success of a game, and this is what World of Dragon Nest has experienced where the game is ready to say goodbye to its players.

Past latest announcement on the official World of Dragon Nest social media account, the developer brought the surprising news that the game will be permanently closed this month. This closing schedule will begin on March 8th with the termination of access to purchase Blue Diamonds and access to other top-up websites. After that the schedule continues to March 31 which is the last time to play it, because the game will no longer be available.

As a farewell gift, the developer has prepared an event and a series of rewards that players can enjoy until March 30. Rewards given include Red Diamond x 1,000, Costume Ticket x10, Mount Ticket x10, and many more. Meanwhile, the newest event, Hot Time, gives Drop Rates of Gold, Exp, and items up to 200% in each area.

Regarding the reason for closing the server itself, the developer did not provide further explanation, but some fans may already have their own guess. This is because even though World of Dragon Nest is a pretty solid MMORPG in concept, it has many fatal flaws that interfere with the gameplay experience. One of the most frequent complaints by fans is severe microtransactions to server problems that are always full.

Hopefully this closing can provide valuable lessons for developers to develop higher quality games later.
