Shin Megami Tensei V Showcases First Gameplay, Confirmed for Release in November 2021

Following the leaked information that had spread a few weeks ago from the game’s official website, through the event Nintendo Direct Finally Atlus again showcased Shin Megami Tensei V through the first gameplay trailer. We call it the premiere because this is the first time they show off an in-game gameplay appearance instead of story cutscenes like in the previous two trailers.

This three-minute gameplay trailer provides many interesting details, such as the setting of the story, the appearance of the gameplay, to the system that is still being carried out such as Demon Negotiation. Instead of being curious, just watch the trailer below (English and Japanese versions):

The story in Shin Megami Tensei V focuses on the fate of a school student who enters a world called “Da’ath”. The main character then merges with a mysterious man and becomes “Naobino”, a figure who acts as a mediator in the great battle between gods and demons. The gameplay mechanism itself still brings many main elements from other series, where players can rely on the power of the demons and take which side they choose to determine the direction of destiny until the end of the story.

Besides being sold in the standard version, the game also comes in a Limited Edition version with additional content that is still unknown in detail. Please note that all these leaks appear from the game’s official website for the Japanese region, so whatever special edition is prepared it will not necessarily be available in the western region.

Shin Megami Tensei V is scheduled to be released on November 11 in Japan, which will then follow the next day on November 12 for a global release. Just like the other main Shin Megami Tensei series that are exclusive to Nintendo, this game will also only be available on Nintendo Switch.
