Shin Kamen Rider Gets New Live-Action Movie From Creators Evangelion
As a form of celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Kamen Rider franchise, recently Toei officially announced a new project that immediately attracted the attention of many fans. Titled Shin Kamen Rider, this is the latest live-action film that will be handled by Hideaki Anno – creator and writer of Neon Genesis Evangelion story. This will be the third reboot of the film after Shin Godzilla and Shin Ultraman which both received quite positive reception.
The announcements delivered through this special livestream session also brought messages from various creators including Anno himself. They expressed a sense of enthusiasm that is as strong as the fans, especially with the long history of Kamen Rider since 50 years ago which has become an idol for many young people in Japan and all over the world.
The film is still in the development stage and is only ready to be screened in March 2023. You can see the teaser trailer for the film project below, which also features artwork from the original Kamen Rider in a cool black cape.
In addition, Koei also announced another Kamen Rider project that is coming in the form of an anime adaptation titled Fuuto Pi. This project adapts the story of Futo Tantei, which is a manga sequel to the Kamen Rider W series. The anime’s broadcast schedule will be in the summer of 2022.
