As (our) appreciation to the fans, we want them to be the first to know the title of the next chapter of the Skywalker saga, (namely) Star Wars The Last Jedi. The Last Jedi is written and directed by Rian Johnson and produced by Kathleen and Ram Bergman with executive producers JJ Abrams, Jason McGatlin, and Tom Karnowski. Star Wars: The Last Jedi is slated for release on December 15, 2017.”
In addition to announcing the official title, Disney and Lucasfilm also released posters from Star Wars: The Last Jedi. With outer space as the hallmark of franchise here, the logo of Star Wars presented in red.
