A Prison in the Philippines Holds a Dota Tournament for Inmates

This is a unique thing done by a prison in the Philippines. To motivate the inmates there, the Baguio City Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) prison in Baguio, Philippines held an esports tournament Dota. It’s worth knowing that it’s good Dota nor Dota 2 very famous there. At this time it can be said that players from the Philippines are players Dota 2 the most in Southeast Asia and even beat Indonesia. For his own achievements, many big names were present from the Philippines so that several teams managed to advance to The International tournament.

Only tournament Dota which was held in a prison this used Dota 1 or Dota Allstar. This is because the computer equipment owned in the prison is quite old with no adequate internet connection. But that did not dampen the enthusiasm of the prisoners. They remain serious in participating in the tournament.

Looks like a tournament Dota held in the prison aims to motivate and relieve fatigue in prison. That inmates can still enter the social world later after being released from prison and may be able to become professional esports players. Attention from the prison also deserves thumbs up for being willing to hold a tournament Dota 1 even with limited equipment.

We’ll see in the future if there are any prisons that follow in the footsteps of Baguio City Jail Management and Penology in the Philippines. It is possible that the prison’s way of setting up esports tournaments can motivate inmates to keep their spirits up in life in the future.
