Game Addiction Will Be Listed As A Mental Health Problem By WHO

Recently, the world health organization or WHO, issued information that addiction to playing games, will be included as one of the mental health problems. In the list of disease classifications that will be released, there is “Gaming Disorder”.

Several countries in the world, have included gaming addiction as a health problem. Even in the UK, there are clinics to treat gaming addiction.

The question is, where exactly can gaming addiction be categorized as a mental health problem?

Some of the things that make addiction to playing games considered as part of mental health problems are if: The gamer can no longer control the time, frequency and duration of playing games. And playing games is considered a top priority compared to other things.

Some countries have started implementing laws, such as in South Korea, where children under the age of 16 are not allowed to play online games between midnight and 6am. In Japan and China there are also restrictions on the maximum amount of time that can be used to play games
