Dota 2 Professional Team Roster Change Recap Post The International 7 (Part 4)

After The International 7 event ended, many pro teams immediately stepped on the gas to revamp the roster. This is based on the team’s performance which may be below management’s expectations. Who are the teams that have made the overhaul?

15. Fnatic

After failing to perform well at The International 7 by dropping out in the group phase, the Malaysian team decided to replace their 3 players and only keep 2 players, namely Chong ‘Ohaiyo’ Xin Khoo and Djardel Jicko ‘DJ’ Ablesti. This means that the players who have to leave the Fnatic team and look for a new team are Lai Jay ‘Ahjit’ Son, Kim ‘Febby’ Yong-min, and Kim ‘QO’ Seon-yeop.

Then it turned out that the Fnatic team was interested in using the services of former Cloud9 players who had recently been disbanded by management. The 2 players are Jacky ‘EternalEnvy’ Mao and Johan ‘pieliedie’ ström who were chosen by the Fnatic team to strengthen this team even though the Cloud9 team didn’t actually play well during The International 7. Maybe the Fnatic team saw these two players as having potential and were suitable if merged with their 2 players.

Here’s the roster of the current Fnatic team:

– Chong ‘Ohaiyo’ Xin Khoo
– Djardel Jicko ‘DJ’ Ablesti
– Steve ‘Xcalibur’ Ye
– Johan ‘pieliedie’ ström
– Jacky “EternalEnvy’ Mao

16. Clutch Gamers

After 2 players decided to move, the Filipino team, Clutch Gamers, decided to overhaul their team by only retaining 2 players. First of all, Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte moved to their rival team namely Execration which is also a team from the Philippines to replace Fernando “Nando” Mendoza. Not long after, the Malaysian team Warriors Gaming Unity took Kenneth “Flysolo” Coloma to form a new roster.

So there are only 3 players left in the current Clutch Gamers team, namely Rafael “Rapy” Sicat Palo, Armel Paul “Armel” Tabios, and Marvin ‘Boombacs’ Rushton. It turned out that the management decided to release Rafael “Rapy” Sicat Palo and leave 2 players in the team that was just formed in December 2016. Now they will bring Jio ‘Jeyo’ Madayag who is a veteran player who has played in the North America and SEA regions. Then there is Marvin ‘Boombacs’ Rushton who is also a veteran player in the Philippines and there is 1 new player brought by the Clutch Gamers team, namely Mac ‘MAC’ Tan.

The following is the roster of the Clutch Gamers team:

– Mac ‘MAC’ Tan
– Armel Paul ‘Armel’ Tabios
– Jun ‘Bok’ Kanehara

– Jio ‘Jeyo’ Madayag

17. Fire Dragoon Esports

Fire Dragoon Esports, which is a pro Dota 2 team from Malaysia, doesn’t seem to want to lose to compete with other SEA regional teams. He recruited veteran players who had participated in The International to build a team for them, namely Adam ‘adam’ Shah. Now the Fire Dragoon Esports team entrusts him as the team captain and gives him the authority to choose other team members.

Adam then called his friend Lai ‘Ahjit’ Jay Son who had played in the WG.Unity and Fnatic teams. Then there are Liang Ying “yang” Yang and Brayant “BrayaNt” Pang who are also veteran Dota 2 players in Malaysia and have also played for the WG.Unity team. The last player fell to a new player, Vincent Hiew Teck “AlaCrity” Yoong, although he is a new player, he has an MMR above 9000 and is quite famous in the Dota 2 world, especially in Malaysia. Reportedly, this team will soon follow the SEA regional qualification to participate in the Minor event, namely StarLadder iLeague Invitational Season 3.

Current Fire Dragoon Esports team roster:

– Lai ‘Ahjit’ Jay Son
– Brayant ‘BrayaNt’ Pang

Then the news of the cessation of Peter ‘ppd’ Dager as CEO of the Evil Geniuses team has become a reality. ppd who has been the CEO of the EG team since 2016 decided to quit his position and may return to being a pro player. It is still unknown where the player who has won The International 5 with the EG team will go.

Aliwi ‘w33’ Omar who is a former Planet Odd player and his teammate Martin ‘Saksa’ Sazdov who together in the Digital Chaos team when they won 2nd place at the International 2016 will form a new team. The former Offlaner from Team Secret, Maurice ‘KheZu’ Gutmann, will take part in this team. Together with Team Secret, KheZu managed to become the champion at the 2016 ROG Masters and placed 3rd at the Epicenter 2017. Unfortunately, at The International 7 yesterday KheZu and Team Secret were only able to reach positions 8-12 and made him decide to leave the team.

Then in the Core position there are former team coL players, namely Mihai ‘cancel^^’ Antonio and Enzo ‘Timado’ Gianoli who are talented young players from the Infamous team. cancel^^ actually on a hiatus as a pro player after leaving the coL team and making this new team a moment for him to return to the pro level. Then Timado, who is a new player at the pro level, was able to make the Infamous team able to appear at The International 7 even though they were only able to reach 12-16 positions in the event, but it seems that Timado has considerable potential.

Here is the new roster:

– Mihai ‘cancel^^’ Antonio
– Maurice ‘KheZu’ Gutmann
– Martin ‘Saksa’ Sazdov
– Aliwi ‘w33’ Omar

The Leviathan team was first created in 2014 and was picked up by the Flipsid3 Tactics team a few months later.
