Maybank Boss's Response Regarding the Case of the Lost 22 Billion EVOS Winda Earl

The news about the loss of Rp. 22 billion in savings belonging to EVOS Esports member, Mobile Legends division, Winda Earl, is being hotly discussed right now.

Not only because billions of rupiah just disappeared, but the bank responded to the case in bad faith.

Seeing this situation, the President Director of Maybank Indonesia, Taswin Zakaria, finally opened his mouth and revealed several things about the case of the lost customer money on Friday, November 6, 2020.

Taswin admitted that his party had reported it to the authorities in order to get legal protection.

“Maybank is also here as a pioneer, asking for legal protection and investigation of possible involvement of parties other than internal,” said Taswin as quoted by detikcom.

He also had the opportunity to report the case to the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Indonesian Police so that the matter was immediately processed according to the current law.

Taswin again appealed to netizens not to issue speculative news.

“Please, let us follow and respect the ongoing process at the Police and the District Court so that there are no speculative news,” he said.

When asked whether Maybank Indonesia’s management will return Winda Earl’s savings.

“It all depends on the evidence in court later,” said Taswin. “Anyone who is proven wrong later will of course be responsible for returning customer funds.”

“There are many models of bank burglary. We will report this to the authorities for legal processing, to ensure that there is no moral hazard in the banking sector,” added Taswin.

For now, the Bareskrim Polri has named the Head of the Maybank Cipulir Branch as one of the suspects. According to the Police, the suspect transferred the victim’s savings money without rights to several other accounts. The investigation process was carried out by confiscation of assets and the flow of funds from the suspect.
