More Focus on Horror, Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness Film Series Shares New Details

Following its official announcement last year as the latest film series from netflix, Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness finally brings a variety of updates that are ready to answer fans’ curiosity. First, Netflix has released a new poster and two screenshots of Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield, which you can see below:

Regarding the story in the film itself, Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness takes place in 2006 where Leon is in a group invited to the White House to investigate a case. But a tragedy arose after Leon and the SWAT team were surrounded by hordes of bloodthirsty zombies. Meanwhile, Claire is involved in the investigation of a mysterious image made by a small child who is a victim of a deadly viral infection. This is where Claire’s investigation and the tragedy Leon must face in the White House connect and become a bigger disaster.

Looking at the setting, this film takes the story exactly two years after Resident Evil 4, which means Leon is only two years older than his figure in the game. Different from other Resident Evil animated film adaptations, especially Vendetta, it seems that fans can breathe a sigh of relief because Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness (at least so far) seems to take the focus of the story that is more dominant in its horror elements.

Nick Apostolides will take on the role of Leon S. Kennedy, while Stephanie Panisello will take on Claire Redfield. Incidentally, these two voice actors also play the figures of Leon and Claire in Resident Evil 2 Remake which was released in 2019, so fans can immediately recognize their voices.

When will the film be released?

For the time being, Netflix has not provided a definite schedule, but Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness has been confirmed to continue to air in 2021. We will inform you of further information once there is a new update.
