New Patch Releases, Resident Evil Village on PC Now Runs Smoother
Since the release of Resident Evil Village a few months ago, many gamers on PC feel that its performance is not optimal. This allegation is quite right on target with claims from the EMPRESS cracker that has hijacked the game and found smoother performance, which even attracted the attention of Digital Foundry to do a test. Of course, Capcom did not stay silent and finally prepared the latest patch.
Through the 1 GB update, they brought two major changes, namely the addition of the FidelityFX Super Resolution feature from AMD and optimization for the anti-piracy system. The performance problem of the game is believed to have come from the implementation of Denuvo, but rather than just eliminating the system, Capcom only made adjustments so as not to make the fps and time-frame decrease.
An important update for Resident Evil Village players on Steam:
– FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) from AMD is now supported. FSR supports higher frame rates on PC for an improved gaming experience.
– Adjustments have been made to optimize the anti-piracy technology.— Resident Evil (@RE_Games) July 20, 2021
For the time being there has been no further testing using this new patch, but Resident Evil Village should be able to be played more smoothly on PC. But interestingly despite the existing performance problems, the game still received a positive reception from many fans and only a small part were dissatisfied with the technical aspects.
Regarding the game itself, Resident Evil Village is the latest sequel to Resident Evil VII which tells the continuation of the story of Ethan Winters. Due to a new incident involving him with Chris Redfield, he must return to a new nightmare in a mysterious and dangerous village. Still presenting gameplay with a First-Person perspective, this game presents a new overhaul starting from a wider world/playground setting, smoother graphics on next-gen platforms, and much more.
Resident Evil Village itself is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Stadia and PC. You can check full details about the game on the official website HERE. Meanwhile, for those who are curious about the quality, you can see our review summary HERE.
