Popular Virtual YouTuber Kiryu Coco Retires from Hololive, What's the Reason?

Any Virtual YouTuber fan must be familiar with the name Kiryu Coco. Debuting in 2019 and part of the fourth generation of Hololive, he is a popular VTuber who already has more than one million subscribers on his YouTube channel. Even though his career is going brilliantly, who would have thought if Coco decided to graduate or quit Hololive in the near future.

This shocking announcement was first spread via press release from Cover Corp, which claims that this was a direct decision taken by Coco. Along with this announcement, Coco has also scheduled her last livestream session to be held in early July. After the last livestream is over, exclusive content for members will still be continued for up to three months.

What makes this announcement so surprising is the fact that Coco is one of Hololive’s most important VTuber figures. Apart from his unique character traits, he is also an inspiration for the next generation of VTubers as recognized by Yukihana Lamy and Calliope Mori. Even though she decided to stop, Coco is still active and continues to live streaming at least until her last day with Hololive in early July.

Regarding the reason for his own retirement, some fans think that Coco can’t stand the harsh taunts he receives from you pro-China. This is because he had read his channel’s statistical data and mentioned Taiwan as a country. For those of you who don’t know, denouncing Taiwan as a country is something that is strictly prohibited by the people there, so any party who does it will definitely get protests to extreme ridicule.

In the end, whatever plans Kiryu Coco wants to carry out in the future, hopefully she can go through with it optimistically and end up as successful as now.
