Turner's ELEAGUE Holds $1 Million CSGO Major Tournament


The 10th CS:GO Major tournament January 22-29 2017 will be hosted by Turner’s ELEAGUE, and for the first time ever this $1 million prizepool tournament will be broadcast live on North American (NA) television.

Apart from being broadcast on TBS television, the tournament can also be watched on Twitch. The tournament itself will initially be held at Turner Studio on January 22-25 and will continue on January 27-29 at the Fox Theatre, Atlanta with a capacity of 4665 spectators.

For ELEAGUE to broadcast live this tournament aims to increase the company’s involvement even more in the Esports industry. This tournament itself will use the same format as the previous Major tournaments, teams such as SK Gaming, Team Liquid, Virtus.pro, Fnatic, Astralis, FlipSid3 Tactics, Natus Vincere and Gambit Esports received direct invitations to this tournament.

The eight teams mentioned above were immediately invited to the tournament because they were in the top 8 of the previous Major tournament, namely ESL One Cologne 2016. While the other 8 teams will be determined in the Major Qualifier match which will take place from 15-18 December 2016.

A total of 16 teams will compete in the Major Qualifier round. Team Dignitas, Ninjas in Pajamas, mousesports, FaZe Clan, Counter Logic Gaming, OpTic Gaming, Team EnVyUs and G2 Esports received direct invitations to the Major Qualifier round. The other eight will be determined by the teams that qualify for the Regional Minor Championships.
