Seagate Storage Expansion Card Ready to Store Xbox Series X|S . Games
In preparation for the launch of the Xbox Series X console, Microsoft has prepared a solution to store more games. In partnership with Seagate, they announced the Seagate Storage Expansion Card for Xbox Series X|S. This storage expansion card, which plugs into the back of the Xbox Series X and Series S consoles, will be released alongside the console.
With the Xbox Game Pass promotion where new games will be released every month on the Xbox family of consoles, of course, the console’s internal storage will not be enough. Plus the Xbox Series S will only have 512Gb SSD internal storage and no disc drive. And currently the average console game size when installed is approximately 50GB, even more if it’s based on online multiplayer games. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone currently has a size of over 100Gb installed, and will continue to increase with new seasons Warzone.
This is good news for all Xbox fans who want to buy an Xbox Series X, and an “all digital” Xbox Series S. However, the price of this 1Tb SSD storage expansion card made by Seagate is not cheap. The official announced price is $220, an $80 difference from the price of the Xbox Series S console, and almost half the price of the Xbox Series X. This of course will increase the additional costs quite high, besides usually buying an additional xbox controller to play with the family.
If you have a USB 3.1 storage drive that is commonly used for Xbox One games today, it can still be used for Xbox Series X|S. The Xbox One Series X and Xbox Series S are rumored to use customized NVME SSD storage. If you want to have optimal gameplay performance, of course it is recommended to use a storage expansion card made by Seagate. Currently, it can be pre-ordered at the Microsoft Store, the Seagate website, or you can contact the official retail stores for Seagate products.
Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S will be released on November 10, 2021 worldwide.
