Tencent Establishes New LightSpeed Studio in California – Tencent has just announced their new studio in California.

In recent months, Tencent Games has made a huge rarity in the video game industry. After some time ago showing off their newest game which is similar in style to Cyberpunk 2077. Now the Chinese game company has revealed that they have collaborated with the Pokemon Company on the Pokemon Unite game. Pokemon Unite itself is a mobile game with the moba genre that presents characters from Pokemon as heroes.

Despite this lucrative cooperation, a report new shows that Tencent is now opening a new studio in the United States. Reporting from Reuters, Tencent announced the launch of the California-based studio LightSpeed LA. Tencent also confirmed that the studio is part of the global company Tencent Games, LightSpeed and Quantum Studios, which develops the PUBG Mobile game.

According to the report, Tencent has recruited top talent from popular studios for its US subsidiary. Specifically, LightSpeed LA hired Rocksar Manager Steve Martin. Steve Martin himself is known as the man behind his success Red Dead Redemption 2. Tencent also placed Scott Warner, as to another video game company in the United States, TiMi Studios.
